A shoemaker makes or repairs shoes. Québec's cultural heritage directory presents lasting pincers dated between 1750 and 1850. This tool stretches leather over a shoe form; some of its parts can also help fasten the pieces together.
The drawn workshop connects a material, a tool and the object being made. Invite your child to observe a present-day shoe: which parts are flexible, and which support the foot?
