Scientific name: Aquila chrysaetos. Where it lives: Open country and mountains in Canada, especially in the west. What it eats: Mostly mammals such as hares and ground squirrels. It can build its nest on a cliff. Brown plumage and a golden nape help distinguish it from an adult bald eagle.
