Courtepointe Québec keeps a registry to preserve quilt history. Volunteers examine and photograph quilts, then collect information about their making and the people connected with them. The programme's first registration took place in Saint-Lambert in December 1991. Preserving a blanket can go hand in hand with preserving its story.
Look at how the pieces form a whole. Some can look alike; others differ in colour or pattern. Imagine a quilt that tells something about family or friends. Each square can hold a drawn memory, without sewing or special materials.
