The Grande Bibliothèque opened to the public in Montréal on April 30, 2005. It includes reading spaces, meeting places and an area for young people. Its architectural design uses materials including glass outside and yellow birch inside. These materials help organize spaces and the movement of light.
Imagine discoveries waiting behind book covers: a made-up story, an animal, a map or an answer to a question. Invite your child to choose what they would like to look for. They can dictate a question even if they cannot yet read independently.
