A little more to discover
From July 17 to August 1, 1976, Montréal hosted the Summer Olympic Games, the first Olympic Games ever held in Canada. Athletes from many countries ran, swam, jumped and threw at 27 venues, including the Olympic Stadium designed by architect Roger Taillibert. Its leaning mast was unfinished during the Games and was completed in 1987, eleven years later. The Canadian Olympic Committee keeps the dates, results and stories of those Games.
For a child, start from familiar movements: running, jumping or throwing. Talk about training, effort and how to cheer others on, without reducing the conversation to winning a medal. The two athletes are imaginary; the drawing reproduces no logo, no mascot and no portrait of anyone who took part.
